Well, we didn’t have a lot of money and it worked.
02 the RabBit Hole
That got me curious. I started learning how these products are actually made and realised even the cheaper Indian pricing carried a hefty margin. Someone was still taking a big cut.
That was the eureka moment. I went looking for the suppliers behind the suppliers, opened a proper business account with them, and Paper Palate was born. From there I went deep handpicking manufacturers for the same thing every time: reliable, repeatable quality at an honest price.
03 Why we moved production home?
For about the first year, orders were made overseas and shipped to Canada. Business was good. But it didn’t feel real, I’ve always loved machines, and I wanted my hands closer to how things were made.
When US tariffs shook the global market, I made the call to bring everything home.
Today every product is made in Canada with ethical labour practices, built on local partners at every step from paper suppliers to consumables to the couriers who deliver it. It costs a little more to do it this way but It’s worth it.

Proudly made in Canada, and growing deliberately. One product line at a time, each one held to the same standard the suitcase taught me: better quality, fairer price, nothing wasted.
